When Ridgebackbrand developers/ distributors Madison Cycles decided to launch Genesis as aseparate entity, it was a wise move. For a start, it's a great name for a brand.
The Genesis range is the 'Tesco finest' premium bike brand of Shimano distributor Madison, just as the Carrera range is for Halfords. Price-wise, the two companies' bikes only just overlap: the Fury is the top-end Carrera hardtail, while the Core 1.0 is the entry-level Genesis.
Genesis is a new brand from the same UK designers who've been producing the excellent Ridgeback Urban MTB range for years. Their experience shows in some neat features and ride characteristics.
