A bit pricey, but great quality and ultra-useful

Lezyne's Port-A-Shop fits the tools for last-minute adjustments and fittings before your ride into a tough fabric folder, and it’s a fantastic kit.

All three of the CNC alloy multitools are from Lezyne’s Block range. The Allen keys run from 1.5mm to 6mm, and the smallest three are doubled – one straight, one hooked at the end for awkward access. A second Block tool holds the 8mm key, plus flat and cross-headed screwdrivers, a piston wedge and a bottle opener, while the final one offers nine Torx keys, from T6 to T30. They’re all well made and solid in use.

If the two plastic tyre levers fail you, the pedal spanners double as long metal levers, plus more bottle openers if they fail too. Finally there’s an admirably ergonomic chain breaker and two types of puncture repair – regular and the new instant stick-on type.

Everything has its own elastic-and-Velcro secured pouch, which given the quality zip sealing the case is a bit over the top – mesh fronts or shorter pouches would make removing/replacing the tools (and checking if they’re even in there) easier. There’s a small zipped mesh pocket left empty for bits and bobs.

The soft case is very tough, and as the whole thing’s barely longer than your hand it’s easy to store. Having the right tools when you need them is, of course, half the battle.
