Our review
Won't soak up the heavy hits, but do what they're designed to very well

If you’re looking for a bit of elbow protection without the bulk of a standard pad, then these lightweight Charge ‘arm guards’ from RaceFace are certainly worth considering.

Getting the right size is important, because there are no straps to adjust the fit. Luckily there are five sizes to choose from and there’s enough stretch in the pads that they give a bit even if they feel tight initially.

Silicone gripper strips help with security when you’re sweaty – we’ve not had a Charge pad slip down yet – and they’re comfy enough that you soon forget you’re wearing them. This is helped by their slim profile, which ensures they’ve fitted under every jersey we’ve tried them with.

The thin foam padding and stretchy Kevlar panel won’t take the hits like a normal pad, but will help reduce skin loss when you scuff your arms up.

We've also reviewed the RaceFace Charge leg guards.
