Gore Vento Lady review

If you can afford the £60 price tag, here’s why the Vento is an excellent gilet. It’s really comfortable, the full mesh lining doesn’t add much weight or bulk, and it wicks sweat away, keeping you happy in a wide temperature range.

An excellent gilet for a wide range of conditions

If you can afford the £60 price tag, here's why the Vento is an excellent gilet. It's really comfortable, the full mesh lining doesn't add much weight or bulk, and it wicks sweat away, keeping you happy in a wide temperature range.

The Windstopper fabric is hard to beat - it does what it says and provides decent shower protection too, while feeling soft to the touch. And it looks good - the length is spot on and the tailored cut is feminine without going overboard. It's well finished - there are good reflective markings, a mesh panelled back, two hand pockets (no rear one) and it stuffs into a jersey pocket or the pouch supplied. Niggles? The zip could have been easier to grab.

Colours: white, red, fireball, bluebell, black. Sizes: S-XL.
