The hefty pricetag of these pads brings with it the legendary d3o PU inserts, enabling the Ambushes to stay flexible and comfy when you’re pedalling but stiffen up in the event of an impact.
We especially like the additional sculpting inside the pads, which helps the kneecaps locate and stabilise the covers. An outer of 600D nylon looks a little DIY but is a cinch to clean.
Large rubber tabs make undoing the two elasticated Velcro straps easy with gloved hands. We found our mediums a little on the large side, so go for a small size if you’re in doubt.
