L'Etape du Tour - the popular cyclosportive that's based on a stage of the Tour de France - will be run on 20 July 2014 using the route of stage 18 of the Tour de France.

The 148km route from Pau to Hautacam in the Pyrenees will see riders tackle the demanding Col du Tourmalet (17.1km at 7.3% with an altitude of 2115m) before finishing with the 1520m high Hautacam, a 13.6km climb at an average of 7.8%.

The amateur event is expected to attract more than 13,500 entrants. It will be run four days before the Tour de France comes through in what promises to be a gripping final week in the Pyrenees.
