Scott have released the lightest version yet of their Addict road racing bike, alongside a new range of sportive-oriented bikes called Solace. Full price details will be confirmed at Eurobike at the end of August but we can report that the top end Addict-SL and Solace Premium will cost €8000 each for complete bikes.

The Scott Addict-SL, which we spotted at the Tour of Flanders earlier this year, has a claimed weight of 995g for the frame and fork for a 54cm model. We weighed a 56cm frame and fork ourselves and it came to 1020g (741g frame/278g fork with uncut steerer), so we've no reason to disbelieve the sub-1kg claim. The complete bikes are just as feathery, with a fully specced Addict-SL with SRAM Red 22, Ritchey WCS carbon parts and Syncros RL1.0 carbon wheels claimed to weight just 5.88kg.

The Addict will also be available as a Team Issue (790g frame/300g fork, 6.17kg total weight kitted with Shimano Dura-Ace and Syncros RL1.1 28mm carbon clincher wheels for €6800), Addict 10 (890g frame/370g fork with Shimano Ultegra 11-speed) and Addict 20 (890g frame/370g fork with Shimano Ultegra 10-speed).

The Addict comes with a maximum rider weight of 100kg including the bike, although when specced with beefier wheels this rises to 110kg.

The Scott Solace range is aimed at sportive and gran fondo riders, with four models available – the Premium (890g frame/330g fork with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 for €8000) , the 10 (950g frame/380g fork, total weight 7.05kg for a 54cm with Shimano Dura-Ace mechanical for €4000), 20 (950g frame/380g fork, Shimano Ultegra 11-speed) and 30 (950g frame/380g fork, Shimano 105). The frame and fork for the Solace 10-30 are the same, with the differences being in the finishing kit.
