Our friend Elden "Fatty" Nelson of renowned blog Fat Cyclist is currently teasing the world with another of his contests to raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Elden has teamed up with Ibis Cycles to offer most any bike in the Ibis lineup -- Mojo SL, Silk SL, Tranny, or Hakkalugi -- to the winner, along with a trip to the winner's destination of choice to take that bike for its first spin. Nelson and Ibis founder Scot Nicol will join the winner for that ride - along with a mystery Cycling Legend.

Elden describes the Mystery Rider as "a beloved former pro road cyclist with a resume that is pretty darn stratospheric, and you will be over the moon to meet and ride with him."

We have learned and verified that the mystery legend is in fact 1988 Giro d'Italia winner Andy Hampsten, famed of course for the ride in hideous weather conditions on the Gavia Pass that secured his victory.

Asked to confirm, Nelson said, "No comment."

Ibis founder Scot Nicol on the other hand, had a very long comment indeed, but it was not relevant to the topic. Further, it's believed his comment was not even in a known human language.
