This year’s Giro Rosa kicks off on Friday 5 July in Cassano Spinola, and will cover a total of 920km over ten stages, culminating in the castle of Udine on Sunday 14 July.

Sadly, despite the exciting racing that the Giro Rosa always delivers, it’s often overshadowed by the Tour de France, which is on at the same time. There won’t be any live TV coverage of the race, but read on for how to follow the action by other means including a new, free, daily highlights show.

The 2019 Giro Rosa

The 30th edition of the Giro Rosa starts with a team time-trial and ends on a cobbled climb to the castle of Udine.

The race promises some exciting climbs and summit finishes, including a Stage 5 finish atop Passo Gavia (with an altitude of 2,621m), and a Stage 9 finish on Malga Montasio.

How can I follow the Giro Rosa 2019 if I can’t watch live coverage?

While there’s no live coverage of the race on TV, don’t be deterred from following the action. There are plenty of opportunities to follow live updates and post-race video highlights.

The great news for race fans is that Trek Bicycles has partnered with women's cycling broadcaster Voxwomen. They'll provide an hour-long broadcast after each of the ten race stages, including stage previews, highlights and post-race content with commentary in English.

The broadcast will start at the conclusion of each day's Tour de France stage, which is taking place at the same time, and can be viewed for free on the Voxwomen and Trek websites, although it won't be available in Italy. The broadcast will start at 17.30 British Summer Time, 18.30 Central European Time and 12.30 US Eastern Standard Time.

For highlight videos, you can also keep an eye on the UCI YouTube channel, as well as PMG Sport’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

If you just want to catch live updates and photos, you can keep up to date via the official UCI Women’s World Tour Twitter feed.
