Not bad value for money or performance but it’s aimed more at runners

Although not bad looking, the neon blue trim means you probably wouldn’t be wearing this monitor outside of an exercising context.

Setup is fairly intuitive and the bike mount is a simple clip-on and zip tie affair. The real lure of the SE300 is speed/distance measurement for well under £100 without additional sensors.

It does this by using an accelerometer which, after calibration, gives a fair estimate of running distance (on level ground at even pace). Unfortunately, it’s pretty much unusable on a bike though.

Ruling that feature out, you’re still getting a monitor for £80 that offers programmable zones, time-in-zone recall (60 lap memory) and a bike mount included.

However, the strap is fairly old-school and, compared to the more expensive monitors, the syncing was occasionally hit and miss.

When running we did like the vibration alarm when you popped out of your zone, but this isn’t really relevant when clipped onto your bars and the display is on the small side.
