Muc-Off has used the 2024 Sea Otter Classic in California to launch a new coreless valve, designed to offer ‘insane airflow’ for easy tubeless inflation.

The new Big Bore valves claim to solve two common problems with tubeless valves: restricted airflow and sealant clogging in the valve stem.

The straight-through design creates an unrestricted channel for inflation and a free passage for sealant. Muc-Off says the Big Bore improves airflow by more than 200 per cent, compared to a standard tubeless valve.

The Big Bore features a stainless steel ball valve and lever system to regulate airflow. Rotating the lever to the fully open position when inflating a tyre offers maximum airflow. Muc-Off suggests it can also be used to fine-tune tyre pressure on the go.

The internal bore design also means the core doesn't need to be removed to add sealant to a tyre, if that’s you’re preferred method of tubeless setup.

Muc-Off will offer two versions of the Big Bore at launch: the Big Bore Lite, for Presta compatibility, and the Big Bore Hybrid, with the same Presta-style stem, but with a wider valve head for use with Schrader pumps.

Later this year, Muc-Off will add the Big Bore Ludicrous, for use with Schrader-sized rim holes.

Pricing for the Big Bore range is to be confirmed.

Finally, Muc-Off also has a new tubeless sealant formulated, according to the Dorset-based brand, specifically for road and gravel riding.

The sealant uses a new water-based synthetic latex solution, designed for use at the higher pressures associated with road tyres, and is said to seal holes up to 7mm.
