B’Twin’s 300 is at the bargain basement end of the market, and the design is therefore very simple. The angle of the bike-carrying arm cannot be adjusted independently, and is dictated by positioning required to fit the rack to the car as a result.
This angle was rather high on our vehicle, and the arm itself is short, making fitting three bikes to the rack feel like a game of Tetris, even with the wheels off. On our Honda Jazz, the design also meant we couldn’t get the rack in the right place without it fouling on the wiper, but this is probably a specific issue with our car.
Fitting three bikes on takes some skill owing to the shortish arms
Six straps and a wide base make it secure and stable on the boot though, even after some driving, but the straps are excessively long and need tying up so as not to flap about.
The bike cradles are made of hard plastic and are a little on the narrow side for some MTB frame tubes. Importantly though, bikes are held nice and high, making the lights and number plate clearly visible on our test vehicle.
