Blok Chain & Padlock review

The Blok CH X300 from Raleigh is in fact a re-branded Magnum, but with a padlock we haven’t seen on others from the Magnum range.

Our review
Carrying 3.5kg will put off a lot of buyers, but kept in a work locker or in the shed at home, this is a viable choice.

The Blok CH X300 from Raleigh is in fact a re-branded Magnum, but with a padlock we haven't seen on others from the Magnum range. The shrouded shackle keeps the potential weak point out of the way and the chain uses the same high quality links as the Magnums do. The only downside to a chain of this size is weight - this is over 3.5kg; that's a lot to carry!

The Blok passed our first test with flying colours with both padlock and chain suffering only cosmetic damage. The second test's power tool attack took just shy of a minute to sever a link, but although it seems fairly fast, the noise and commotion created should be a deterrent in itself. It's a good product and though it's not backed by an anti-theft guarantee, warranty or independent rating, for those on a budget this would be a sound buy. Carrying 3.5kg will put off a lot of buyers, but kept in a work locker or in the shed at home, this is a viable choice.
