Our review
Below average performance at an above average price

With a 16mm diameter shackle made from 'alloyed hardened special steel' measuring 230mm by 108mm, a double bolted locking mechanism and cylinder protection, Trelock's top of the range D-lock ticks all the boxes a good performing lock should, and comes with a Sold Secure Gold rating.

Our experience, however, was very disappointing. The BS610 caved in under manual attack in a little over a minute, with the lock mechanism casing bursting under the pressure, allowing the remains of the lock to be prised apart. Under the power tools, the shackle held up better but still gave way in just under two minutes of abuse. For a lock that comes with a Sold Secure Gold rating, this is more than worrying. Perhaps our test sample was sub-standard in some way, but that doesn't let Trelock off the hook.
