Could be more stable when fully loaded, but for the money it’s a great place to start

Get over the Early Learning Centre-style kids cammo as the black or red versions are the same money. Then shut your eyes, strap on the Quencher and go ride.

The heavy-duty Cordura construction bodes well for long-term life and the zips are chunky and positive to use, as is the small elastic bungee for holding small items of clothing.

The bladder-divided main compartment has no other pockets, while on the outside there’s a single zip pouch housing an MP3 pocket (with audio port) and three sub pockets for small item storage.

The bladder is Caribee’s and does its job soundly. The hose for the bladder is routable on either shoulder strap. It’s not the best fit, the bladder screw cap is very small, which makes cleaning tricky, but the pack delivers exactly what you’re looking for in terms of getting water and essentials from your back.

If price tags not labels matter to you, try the Caribee.
