Lomo Hi Viz 30l Cycling Dry Bag review

I’ve largely been impressed with Lomo’s collection of budget-friendly cycling gear and can vouch for its £10 eyewear and £33 bikepacking seatpack (but not its £15 phone mount).

And that praise extends to the Hi Viz Cycling Dry Bag. If you want a very bright and reflective, cheap and watertight bag for cycling, then this is hard to fault.

The on-bike comfort of the Dry Bag exceeds expectations, with the two horizontal meshed pads on the back, cushioned shoulder straps, and chest and waist straps that are positioned perfectly for support.

Those pads don’t extend down the whole of the back, however, meaning I did get a sweaty back on longer midsummer rides, but for shorter jaunts it wasn’t an issue.

The sheer power of the reflective/hi-viz construction also filled me with confidence on night ventures, with the reflective panels and stripes reflecting light back in the direction it comes from.

The bag falls down for practicality, though. There are no outer zipped pockets or a laptop compartment, and internally there’s just a single mesh pocket for valuables, which lacks a zip.

The absence of padding at the bottom of the bag also gave me laptop concerns, even when within its own protective case.

That said, the waterproofing from the PVC material, RF-welded seams and roll-top closure is excellent and offers versatility for watersport use.
