Good quality merino top at a very reasonable price

From New Zealand comes this classic looking, retro-styled merino wool jersey. It’s comfortable with neatly stitched seams, and as it’s made from wool you can wear it throughout the year. We’ve been using it as part of our winter layering system, where wool’s warmth comes to the fore. But come spring we’ll be wearing it on its own, making the most of merino’s wicking qualities in warmer weather.

It has a 5.5in long zip (good in winter but a bit short for summer) and three equally sized rear pockets. Overall it’s hard to fault this top, although some riders may not be keen on the logo on the front. Aspiring also make embroidered versions ($185), short-sleeved tops ($165) and women’s jerseys, all in a similarly stylish muted colour palette.
