Sleek fit for trim roadies, warm enough for mild winter days

The Castelli Mannaggia Jersey FZ will find a happy home wrapped around fit roadies looking to put in big miles over the winter. The shrink-wrapped cut is tight even by Italian standards, with not a shred of extra material left to flap in the breeze. But if you can squeeze yourself into the thing, there's a lot to like here.

As all good cycling clothing should, the Mannaggia is decidedly more comfortable while on the bike than off – hunch over and raise your arms forward and you're rewarded with a hyper-anatomic garment that feels like it's been sprayed on. The snug cuffs cover your wrists just right, the lightly elasticized waist lies just above the crease of your thigh, and the neck is tight enough to keep cold air out but without feeling restrictive – simply put, there's not a single thing we'd change as far as the cut is concerned.

The brushed Thermoflex material capably traps warm air and is admirably breathable so you won't clam up during a hard workout. Without any proper windproofing bits added in, though, it's best to restrict the Mannaggia FZ to temperatures around 7°C (45°F) and above. The fuzzy interior feels good against your skin too, which is a good thing since the tight fit makes it tough to add anything but a sleeveless or short-sleeved base layer underneath.

The three rear pockets are a tad on the small side, so leave cargo to just the bare essentials. Riders donning the Mannaggia FZ might also want to take care not to get caught as the sun goes down. There's very minimal reflective material so be sure to at least sport a few LED blinkers if you're planning on being out late.
