Pared-down style combines with warm and protective performance to make this a winter favourite

The first thing to alert you to about this jersey is the sizing – usually a medium, we had to wear an XL in the Santini H2O to get the right fit. Once you’ve put aside your vanity, you’ll like it as much as we did, even though it is slim.

The fabric is very cosy – the most sensitive of skins can't fail to find it comfy and it became a real treat to pull this on on cold mornings. It’s not suffocating when you warm up either as the fit enhances the wicking and we didn’t ever feel too sweaty.

The real bonus is that water just runs off the outer surface of the material – if you find yourself caught out without a jacket when it starts to rain this will serve you better than your average jersey.

The make-up quality is very high, with flatlock seams and cleanly bound cuff and hems that don’t have anything to irritate. This was a jersey that encouraged pack-free rides with its three well-sized rear pockets and we liked its fuss-free performance a lot.
