Our review
A super-strong crank for the dirt-jumping crowd, but it’s a massive pain to fit

Built to resist the punishment meted out by the dirt-jumping contingent, this three-piece crank from Gusset is known to be one of the strongest cranks around.

It’s made from heavy-duty chromoly tubular steel that’s TIG-welded to the forged pedal and axle bosses. The axle is also made from chromoly. This means the crankset is pretty weighty, but at least it isn’t likely to break until long after you do!

When fitting the Pigmys, be prepared for the squeals of tortured metal as you force the cranks along the inch and a half splines on the end of each axle — which, by the way, takes Spartan strength.

Then you need to hope that you’ve got the array of spacers in their correct places, because if you haven’t you’ll have to go through the entire process again.
