Truvativ’s triple-ring version of the Stylo features exactly the same OCT hollow-forged crank arms as the double-and-bash all-mountain version.
The fact that it’s more than 100g lighter than its twin-ring brother is mainly down to it having a 7075 44-tooth outer ring instead of a fat polycarbonate bashguard, though the 22T inner and 32T middle are both slightly smaller too.
We like the straightforward design and clean looks, and shifting across the three rings is decently slick. We’d still prefer to have axle-protecting nylon sleeves in the bearings though.
Unlike most modern setups, there are no supplementary seals on the crank arms. A one-key release on the left-hand crank means the rings are super-easy to pull off, check and clean though.
