Very similar soft performance to Deore, but £10 more expensive

These shifters offer two-way Rapidfire or old-style in-line Dual Control options, but both are overshadowed by higher and lower rated groups.

The LX units use the same either-way release lever and shifting architecture of XT. Plastic triggers give a softer feel, with a longer throw before the mechanism engages and a slower release. It’s not so bad when new but it can make individual shifts hard to detect in rough situations. Any stickiness or roughness in the cables dramatically increases shifting effort and sponginess, too.

Angular design looks a bit prettier but it’s hard to tell much difference between these and the tenner-cheaper Deore.
