Our review
One of the longest travel and lightest dropper posts around, and it works a treat

Pros:

Long travel is liberating for tall folk on bikes with rider-forward geometry; neat travel-adjust feature to find the maximum travel for your frame and leg length; surprisingly light

Cons:

Pricey; you’ll need to add more pressure before fitting

With 212mm of drop, Vecnum's NIVO 212 TRAVELFIT dropper is one of the longest-travel seatposts you can buy.

The NIVO is also available in three other dropper lengths (122mm, 152mm and 182mm) and three diameters (30.9mm, 31.6mm, 34.9 mm).

If you’ve got long legs, or a lengthy bike that encourages a central riding position, that 212mm drop is a big plus. It gave me (at 190cm / 6ft 3in tall) a greater range of motion when pumping big rollers or sucking up kicky features.

Being able to lower the saddle so far out of the way was also reassuring when tackling muddy ruts or pinball rocks.

The post measures 570mm at full extension (from saddle rails to cable port). If that’s too long to fit in your frame at your pedalling height, you can shorten the travel (and overall length) in 4mm steps using the brand's TRAVELFIT system, to find the perfect fit.

The 254mm stack height (from rails to collar) is short considering the travel. At 530g for the post and remote, it’s ridiculously light too.

Remote for the Vecnum NIVO 212 TRAVELFIT dropper seatpost for mountain bikes
The remote is comfy to use, there’s no play, sticking or sag, and no signs of wear so far - Andy Lloyd / Immediate Media

I used Vecnum’s shim (€18.52) to fit the 30.9mm-only post in a 31.6mm frame, along with its two-bolt seat clamp (€28.27). Even with friction paste, once the clamp was tight enough to stop the post turning in the frame, it would stop just short of full extension.

Upping the air pressure from 200psi (the amount it came set with, which is Vecnum’s minimum recommended pressure) to 300psi (the maximum) solved this.

That aside, it’s worked flawlessly for six months. The remote is comfy to use, there’s no play, sticking or sag, and no signs of wear so far.
