During the autumn months, a few of the BikeRadar team competed in the national hill climb race series and brought you weekly updates in the Hill Climb Diaries. Now, with the onset of the off-season and food and drink aplenty, the team thought it was time to take a look at how the fitness of the intrepid hill climb collective has fared.

So, after a month of taking things fairly easy, Reuben, Joe and Jack hop back on their bikes in this latest instalment of the BikeRadar Diaries video series to find out if they've lost any of their fitness during this time.

Along with fellow rider Benedict, they head off on an early morning spin that includes a five minute power test. Inevitably, however, the ride takes an eventful turn with the four forced to retreat to the nearest cafe.

As well as putting their fitness to the test, Reuben takes a closer look at his second singlespeed conversion, this time turning his Focus Mares CX bike into a fun flat bar winter bike.

The new build features 780mm handlebars, Shimano XT trail brakes and 37mm WTB Riddlers with rather nice tan walls.
