Mountain bikes and the Tour de France rarely mix, but on the final climb to Annecy-Semnoz on Saturday, they were spotted in the same frame as local downhill rider Romain Marandet set up a dirt jump and launched himself over Chris Froome (Team Sky), Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha).

In 2002, a similar stunt was pulled near the top of the Galibier (below). But while Marandet landed his effort, that guy did not. Ouch.
