The latest on Scott's road bikes, mountain bikes, women's bikes, e-bikes and hybrids

Scott is a large manufacturer of road bikes, mountain bikes, women's bikes, e-bikes, adventure/gravel bikes and cyclocross bikes of all budgets, as well as a massive range of commuter and kids models. 

Who is Scott bikes?

Scott was founded in 1958 in Sun Valley, Idaho — now headquartered in Fribourg, Switzerland — and began as a manufacturer of aluminium ski poles before branching out into a huge range of other sectors in the sporting goods industry.

While associated with both road and mountain bikes these days, Scott cut its teeth with mountain bikes, with the brand introducing its first model way back in 1986.

The brand has gone on to have huge successes in XC mountain bike racing, with Olympic gold medalist and five-time World Champion, Nino Schurter piloting various iterations of the brands top end Spark and Scale to a ludicrous number of wins over the years.

The house component brand for Scott is Syncros. Syncros was a legendary name in the early days of mountain biking, producing a vast range of super light and highly desirable parts. 

The brand was acquired from Ritchey by Scott in 2012. Today, Syncros produces a massive range of bars, stems, seatposts, wheels and other finishing parts. A large number of these parts and accessories are available separately. 

Scott also produces a huge range of clothinghelmets and accessories.

What Scott bikes are there?

On the road, Orica-Scott pilot a fleet of Foil's and Addict's. The Foil is the brands all-round aero bike with the super lightweight and stiff Addict better suited to hillier stages. There is a disc version of the Addict, but no such model for the Foil (yet).

The Addict is also available in two different off-road flavours — the Addict CX and Addict Gravel

The Solace, Solace Disc, CR1, Speedster and Speedster Disc make up the endurance-focussed, budget end of the brands road range. The Speedster is also available in gravel and cross guises.

Off road, the aforementioned Spark and Scale make up the brands XC racing offerings. 

The Geniuswhich has been totally redesigned for 2018 — is the brands highly adaptable, all-mountain/enduro bike. An e-bike version of the Genius is also available. The Gambler is Scott's world cup winning downhill bike.

Scott produces a range of women's bikes, but these take the form of 'unisex' frames with women's specific finishing kit. 

Scott offers two woman's road bikes; the Contessa Solace and the Contessa Speedster. 

Scott offers its full compliment of mountain bikes in a women's specific fit, with the Contessa Spark, Contessa Scale and Contessa Genius making up the range.
