Endura MT500 Waterproof Suit review$550.00

All in one waterproof coverage

BikeRadar score3.5/5

Endura has mated a pair of waterproof trousers with a jacket to create a garment for super-wet rides, with the combo’s linked rear panels stopping spray working its way under the jacket’s hem.

This is bolstered by the MT500's impressively breathable (60,000g/m2/hr) fabric and ample torso and leg ventilation. The arms are cut fairly long and baggy, with a thin inner cuff with thumb loops to keep breezes out. There’s enough room for trail-orientated knee pads too. Zip off the lower legs and you’re left wearing (very long) shorts.

Getting the suit on and off is easy thanks to a full-length zip on the jacket and an elasticated and poppered fly on the trousers. There’s no waist adjustment though, and while the trouser section will never fall down, I’d prefer a snugger fit.

The suit also tugs a touch over the shoulders — this isn’t uncomfortable, but extra stretch panels in the rear might have avoided it altogether. It’s essential to dry the suit fully between rides too, because otherwise it feels cold, wet and clammy.

Then there’s the price. Yes, you get a jacket and trousers, which are well made, using a very breathable and waterproof fabric, but you’d have to be a dedicated winter rider to justify the expense.
